My year of running – registering for a race every month for a year and blogging (bragging) about it – is over. It started in July 2014 and ended in July 2015.
However, I did one more bonus run and that was the Vancouver Eastside 10k. Here we were a year ago basking in the post-run glow after a successful 10k in September 2014. Read the review here.
The 2015 Vancouver Eastside 10k was not nearly as sunny. It was down right down pouring.
And not pretty. But this was after an extremely and unseasonably hot and very dry summer in Vancouver and the rain was sorely needed. Unfortunate that the weather gods scheduled the rains for my race.
Date – Saturday, September 19
Distance – 10k
Time – 54.10
Place in Gender – 461/781
Start/Finish Location – Cambie & Georgia at Stadium Skytrain Station
- Not as many people.
- Not as many people stayed at the end for the awards or food.
My post-run celebratory lunch was at Left Bank on Denman. It turned out to be my last meal at Left Bank because this special little french bistro has since been sold. It is the end of an era because Left Bank was one of our favourite Denman street local hangouts with live music every Thursday nights, a tucked-away alley patio great for the summer, great cocktails, a happy hour and congenial service by real French French servers.
Left Bank has been sold and as of October 2015 is being rebranded, renovated and turned into a gastro pub named “The Blind Sparrow” or something.
