Date – Sunday, August 17
Distance – 8k
Time – 58.00. Considering I stayed up watching Cabin in the Woods and drinking beer until 12:30am the night before I think I did pretty good.
Start/Finish Location – Capilano River Regional Park, North Vancouver
Charity – http://www.cpaws.org
Notes – They route was intense. My first trail run that was up, down, over roots, down gravel roads, through forest trails, up Grouse Grind like steps steps, over several bridges, dodging dogs and walkers, all around and up around again. It was beautiful but challenging and I did walk a few times. About 75 people participated.
A complimentary yoga class was offered after the race.
The registration/package pick up table included several anti-pipeline brochures. I thought this run was in support of pipelines, not against.
The offered prizes at the end and I won a package of Nuun electrolyte enhanced drink tab with ingredients that included polyethylene glycol. Isn’t that a Dow Chemical product transported by pipelines? Go pipelines.
